First Impressions Get Ready with Me: Makeup Revolution & Freedom Makeup

First Impressions Get Ready with Me: Makeup Revolution & Freedom Makeup (Rose Gold Lipstick in Girl's Best Friend, Ultra Flawless Powder Brush, Pro Artist Pad, Pro Studio Strobe Cream)

Remember that Makeup Revolution party I went to a couple of months ago? I was lucky enough to receive quite a few products to play with, and what better way to test them out than on camera, right? Today I'll give you my initial thoughts on Makeup Revolution's Rose Gold Lipstick in 'Girl's Best Friend', Makeup Revolution's Ultra Flawless Powder Brush, Freedom Makeup's Pro Artist Pad and Freedom Makeup's Pro Studio Strobe Cream. Have you tried any of these yourself?

Makeup Revolution I Heart Makeup 'Stay Don't Stray' Eye Primer Review

Makeup Revolution I Heart Makeup 'Stay Don't Stray' Eye Primer Review

Putting on eye primer on my eyelids before applying eyeshadow is a step I never skip in my makeup routine. It makes a huge difference in how your eyeshadows look and how long they last. My personal favourite is Urban Decay's Primer Potion, but today I'll be talking about Makeup Revolution's 'Stay Don't Stray'. Sounds familiar? Benefit's primer actually has the exact same name. Coincidence? I think not. Makeup Revolution is known for coming out with dupes after all. Now, I've never tried the Benefit version, so I can't make any comparisons, but I've tried quite a few other drugstore and high end primers so far, which helped me evaluate this one.

Makeup Revolution's 'Stay Don't Stray' comes in a rather big sized squeezable plastic tube, but I have to warn you that the tube is not full of product. I've noticed there's a lot of air inside, so don't get fooled. As far as its performance goes, it's pretty decent. It's great at making eyeshadows look more pigmented and vibrant, but it isn't the best when it comes to helping your eyeshadows last longer, as I find my eye makeup looks fade throughout the day anyway whenever I'm using this product.

I'm pretty sure some of you who have to deal with oily eyelids will also be interested in whether or not it prevents creasing, but unfortunatelly, I can't comment on that, as eyeshadow never creases on me. Sorry! I don't think there's anything else that can be said about an eye primer, so I'll leave this review as it is and to finish things off, ask you what your favourite eye primer is? I would love to know!

Makeup Revolution I Heart Makeup 'Too Cool for School' Wow Gloss Review

Makeup Revolution I Heart Makeup 'Too Cool for School' Wow Gloss Review

Being a self-proclaimed lip gloss hater, I never thought I would grow to love them, but things change and so do I. Lip glosses have become less sticky and free of chunky glitter since my elementary school years, which has definitely helped me embrace them. Clarins Lip Perfectors and NYX Butter Glosses even got their permanent spot in my handbag, but now, I have another one to add to the collection - Makeup Revolution's I Heart Makeup Wow Gloss in 'Too Cool for School'.
Makeup Revolution I Heart Makeup 'Too Cool for School' Wow Gloss ReviewIt comes in the cutest packaging with a flat doe foot applicator. I love how unique the shape of the tube is (wide + slim). It looks pretty bulky at first, but it's actually very sleek.

The light pale pink shade is right up my alley. The pigmentation is just perfect and I love the milky effect. The lip gloss is comfortable to wear, doesn't have a particular scent and isn't sticky. Yay for that! I think it's perfect for everyday activities such as school or work. I actually used the lip gloss in my 'Back to School Makeup Tutorial' video in case you haven't watched it yet.

I have to say, Makeup Revolution has pleasantly surprised me once again. I'm already adding new items to my wishlist. Which products should I definitely check out?

Makeup Revolution 'Never Enough' Nail Polish Review

Makeup Revolution 'Never Enough' Nail Polish Review

Today I'm reviewing another Makeup Revolution product that has some great potential, but fails miserably. 'Never Enough' nail polish is of an amazing quality considering it only costs one pound. The consistency is just right, it's opaque after two coats, dries extremely quickly and stays chip-less for about two to three days. But there's one huge problem. The brush. It is terrible. It's so rough that it leaves stripes on your nails when you're applying the polish, and let me tell you, it doesn't look good. It really is such a shame, because otherwise, the nail polish would have been wonderful. Have you tried any Makeup Revolution nail polishes yourself? Did you have a similar experience?

Makeup Revolution 'Sugar & Spice' Blush & Contour Palette Review

Makeup Revolution 'Sugar & Spice' Blush & Contour Palette Review

Makeup Revolution is a brand I haven't yet completely fallen in love with. I don't like the whole copycat aspect on which their brand was built on, nor was I convinced by half of their product I've tried so far. But one thing's for sure. Their blushes are to die for. I'm still head over heels with their cream blush I reviewed here, and currently, I'm obsessing over the new Sugar & Spice palette.

Sugar & Spice Blush & Contour Palette contains eight powder products with a satin to matte finish. They are smooth, easy to blend and extremely pigmented, so you have to be very light-handed when working with them. Trust me, you can quickly turn yourself into a clown if your brush picks up too much product.

The two top left shades are supposed to be contour powders, but I would never use them for contouring. They have a slight pink undertone, so I think are better off being used as blushes. I personally like to mix them with the coraly pink shade that can also be found in this palette (second right on the bottom), and the result on the cheeks is just stunning.

Then there are two baked, shimmery powders, which can be found on the right side of the palette. The top one is a highligher with a purple undertone, and the bottom, a shimmery pink blush. Again, I use these for different purposes - as eyeshadows - since I prefer to use pure 'white' highlighters on my face and don't really wear heavily shimmered shades as a blush. I recently created a really pretty eye makeup look with them, along with some other shades from the palette, so I think I'll be filming the tutorial later this week. If you're interested in seeing it, of course.

Last but not least, the palette includes four pink blushes, ranging from deep to hot pink shades, and as mentioned, there's also a gorgeous corali-ish pink shade thrown into the mix, which I absolutely adore! Hands down my favourite shade from the palette. I've been wearing it non-stop for the past month.

The quality of the blushes is amazing, and the packaging doesn't disappoint either. It doesn't look or feel cheap. For six pounds, it's an absolute bargain!

Makeup Revolution 'Dusky' Lipstick Review

Makeup Revolution 'Dusky' Lipstick Review
I currently have five Makeup Revolution product in my to-review drawer, so I better get started. The first one in line is their lipstick in the shade Dusky (in Slovenia available here). I had mixed feeling about it when I first tried it, and my feelings haven't changed much. Firstly, let's point out the obvious. The packaging. MUA much? If the lipstick didn't have 'Makeup Revolution' written across it, I would mistake it for one of my MUA lipsticks. They look identical! I'm starting to think MUA and Makeup Revolution products are made in the same factory or something, because some of their produts are eerily similar.
Makeup Revolution 'Dusky' Lipstick Swatch'Dusky' is a lovely muted pink shade, but it has something I'm not a big fan of. Tons of shimmer. Shimmery lipsticks don't suit me at all, and remind me of the awful old school lipsticks I used to 'borrow' from my female relatives when I was little. Luckily, they don't have the same disgusting scent and sandy finish, but I really don't like the almost metallic finish. I'm more of a matte or creamy sheen person.

The formula itself, however, is quite nice for such a cheap lipstick. It is pigmented, applies creamy and doesn't dry out your lips. The wear time is pretty average, an hour or so, but I'm not a fan of the aftermath. Yup, I'm going to mention the shimmer again. It stays on your lips, and the glitters get legs and end up crawling all over your face. Ugh. This is why this lipstick can't get two thumbs up from me. It is an ok lipstick, but not for me personally. At least not this shade. I much prefer MUA lipsticks, which you can get for the same price - one pound. Having said that, I've seen Makeup Revolution carries other finishes as well, so they might be worth checking out.

Makeup Revolution 'Rose Cream' Cream Blusher Review

Makeup Revolution 'Rose Cream' Cream Blusher Review

A few weeks ago I filmed the first impressions video featuring some Makeup Revolution products I was sent from licila.si, and today it's time for me to do a full review of the item I was initially most impressed with, the cream blush in the shade 'Rose Cream'. I took it with me to France, wore it every single day, and I'm glad to say we became very good friends.

The shade is just a perfect for everyday, giving me a nice pop of pink colour that I can see working all year round. The blush itself is strongly pigmented. You seriously only need a tiny bit of it to cover your whole cheek. I use my Real Techniques' stippling brush with it and I couldn't ask for a better result. I just dab a little bit of the product on the brush, stipple it all over my cheek and blend, blend, blend. It applies evenly, not patchy, and gives a beautiful glow to my cheeks. The only thing that disappointed me was the staying power, as the intensity starts fading quite quickly on me, even though I have dry skin. But that's pretty much the only thing that bothers me.
Makeup Revolution 'Rose Cream' Cream Blusher Review Face SwatchP.S. In case you are a fellow dry skin sufferer and haven't tried cream blushes before, try them! They're the best! I honestly don't know why I only have a couple of them. I might have to pick up a few more Makeup Revolution shades... Any other cream blush lovers out there?
