How to See London in a Day

How to See London in a Day Travel Guide

I don't know if you've noticed, but I don't share my YouTube videos here on my blog anymore. However, there's always an exception to the rule, and this piece of content is simply too good to be kept on one platform only, if I can say so myself. I'd been planning to film the 'How to See London in a Day' travel guide for over a year, but I kept pushing it back until a couple of weeks ago, when I decided to take a day off and walk around London to get all the shots needed. 16 km and 8 hours later, I managed to get all the footage, and then spent the following two days behind my laptop, editing away. This is definitely one of the videos I put the most effort in and despite thinking there's plenty of room for improvement, I'm actually quite proud of it. I think many of you will find it helpful for when you're visiting London for the weekend only or are here on a long layover. If you follow my step-by-step route in the video below, I can assure you, you won't miss any of the major sights the city has to offer. Just make sure your footwear's comfortable!

Goth Glitter Tears Halloween Makeup Tutorial

Goth Glitter Tears Halloween Makeup Tutorial

This is probably one of my all time favourite makeup tutorials I've filmed so far. For once, the lighting/camera cooperated with me, I was feeling the hair buns, and fell in love with the bold black lip. I was afraid this look I had in mind for a while wouldn't see the light of the day, because I had hardest time finding face glitter and a black lipstick, but I hunted down the former last minute and created the latter myself. I still don't know what the best name for this creation would be. I ended up going for 'goth glitter tears'. It's not a very typical Halloween look, but I hope you like it nonetheless. I definitely do and wouldn't mind wearing it on a regular basis to be honest. Who knows, I might actually end up doing it. I'll probably ditch the glittery tears, though. They would be a bit too much even for the London crowd.

Glam Vampire Halloween Makeup Tutorial

Glam Vampire Halloween Makeup Tutorial

Last year I went to my first ever Halloween party. Having a background in makeup artistry, you would probably expect from me to go all out and transform myself into something crazy, but I had exactly twenty minutes to get ready, at the office, so I had to come up with something quick and easy. I went for the classic with a twist - a vampire look inspired by The Vampire Diaries. I ended up loving it, so today, I thought I would share it with you. If you're a busy lady yourself, you might find it useful on October 31 or the weekend before.

How to Travel on a Budget

How to Travel on a Budget:Tips for Cheap Flights, Accommodation, Food, Sightseeing...

'Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer' is a sentence I couldn't agree more with. All my favourite memories and life lessons go back to the places I've visited. Being on the road, exploring new places, experiencing different cultures and taking incredible photos along the way is my favourite thing in the world. Always has been, always will be. In my dictionary, traveling is the definition of pure bliss, and I think every single one of us should be doing it as often as we can.

These days, we're lucky enough to be able to travel for ridiculously cheap, and I can't see why we wouldn't be taking advantage of that. I know, I know. Even cheap can sometimes be too expensive. I understand. Been there, done that. Well, I'm still there to be honest. But, even so, I managed to see not one but two new places this year - Stockholm and Berlin. It can be done, trust me. Would you believe my return plane ticket to Berlin cost me no more than 20 euros and the whole week-long trip cost me less than a week of my normal day-to-day life in London? Well, you'll just have to because it's TRUE.

Like I said, traveling on a budget really is possible, and today, I'll tell you everything you need to know to score the best deals on transport, accommodation, admission fees and even food. You can thank me later, by sending me a postcard from your next cheap travel adventure or signing up to Airbnb using this link, so that both of us can travel for even cheaper! You're welcome. Again.

Living with Social Anxiety

Living with Social Anxiety My Story & Advice

When I was younger mental health problems such as depression and anxiety weren't discussed publicly. At least not where I come from. I'd always known there's something about me that isn't quite right or 'normal', so to speak, but I'd never really had the word for it up until I stumbled upon a couple of YouTube videos back in... 2010? It was then, at the age of 18, when I heaved a huge sigh of relief, knowing I'm not the only 'freak' out there. I will be eternally grateful to people who decided to speak up about their own problems and share their stories online, as they definitely played a huge part in me working on accepting myself, and that's why today, I'm opening up myself to spread the awareness and maybe even be the person who unlocks someone else's prison. You never know. Living with general and social anxiety is not easy, especially when people around you try to dismiss your problems, or even worse, ridicule you. Having said that, I'm a firm believer that you can overcome anything and do whatever your heart desires, even if your mind sometimes decides to work against you. My story is not a success story. Yet. But I'm working on it, and one day, I hope it will be.

Dusty Girls Earth Cream Natural Tinted Cream Review

Dusty Girls Earth Cream Natural Tinted Cream Review

Once again, it's been over a year since I tried out a new foundation. I feel like it's very hard for me to find a suitable one for my combination skin, so when I do, I stick to it. Nars Sheer Glow has been my number one bae for filming and going out, while the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum, an old favourite, is the one I usually grab when going for natural-looking day-to-day looks.

Having said that, the latter just got a very strong competitor - Earth Cream by Dusty Girls. Dusty Girls is an all-natural vegan-friendly Australian brand I haven't even heard of up until a month ago, but one thing's for sure, they definitely have my attention now.
Dusty Girls Earth Cream Natural Tinted Cream Review

Their Earth Cream is one of the best everyday foundations I've tried. Don't let the 'tinted cream' description fool you. The coverage is way better compared to other tinted creams on the market. I would say between light and medium, and what I also like about it is how easy it is to blend out. It has a thicker, cream-like consistency, so I would say avoid the brushes and just use your good old hands. Quick and streak-free! Also, one pump - yay for the pump - is more than enough to cover your whole face.

Somehow this product works well on my dry as well as oily areas. It's super moisturizing, which helps it to not stick to the dry patches I have on my cheeks, and stays on throughout the whole day, even on my oily T-zone. I haven't noticed any separation either, which is a big deal to me, because my foundations always end up separating on my chin.

The only thing I'm not exactly over the moon with is the scent. It's just a bit... funky? I really don't know how to describe it. Maybe it's what most all-natural products smell like and I'm just not used to it. Luckily, it ends up going away once it settles, so it's far from being a deal breaker, but I just thought I would mention it.

P.S. I wanted to include some before and after photos as well, but for some reason, I always end up forgetting to take them, so I decided to go ahead with the post and hope the video demo below will be just as helpful.

What's in My Bag: Daily Vlogging Edition

What's in My Bag: Daily Vlogging Edition

Have you ever watched Mary Poppins? Do you remember the scene with her purse containing everything but the kitchen sink? That's how mine is most of the time, especially since I started vlogging. Some of my friends got so used to it they even stopped taking half of their stuff with them, because they know I'll always come to the rescue if we're out and about together. Oh, dear! To give you an idea of what I carry with me on a daily basis, check out my 'what's in my bag' video below or over here. Do you carry such a ridiculous amount of things with you as well?

My Go-to Summer Makeup Look

My Go-to Summer Makeup Look

I haven't filmed a makeup 'tutorial' in quite a while, so I thought I would show you my go-to summer makeup look that I always end up wearing summer after summer. It's super wearable, cuz that's the way I like it, but you can also glam it up by adding a winged eyeliner and some fake lashes. These are my fave.

My Foundation & Brow Routine

My Foundation & Brow Routine

I can be a bit of a one trick pony when it comes to my foundation and my eyebrows. Nine times out of ten, I'll reach for the same products and use the same techniques, but hey, you know what they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Since I'm planning to film quite a few makeup tutorials in the upcoming months and don't want to start every video with the exact same five-minute-long process, I thought I would film this foundation and brow routine now, and skip the same-old-same-old parts in my future videos. Does it sound like a good deal?

First Impressions Get Ready with Me: Makeup Revolution & Freedom Makeup

First Impressions Get Ready with Me: Makeup Revolution & Freedom Makeup (Rose Gold Lipstick in Girl's Best Friend, Ultra Flawless Powder Brush, Pro Artist Pad, Pro Studio Strobe Cream)

Remember that Makeup Revolution party I went to a couple of months ago? I was lucky enough to receive quite a few products to play with, and what better way to test them out than on camera, right? Today I'll give you my initial thoughts on Makeup Revolution's Rose Gold Lipstick in 'Girl's Best Friend', Makeup Revolution's Ultra Flawless Powder Brush, Freedom Makeup's Pro Artist Pad and Freedom Makeup's Pro Studio Strobe Cream. Have you tried any of these yourself?

Feeling Pressured to Wear Makeup

Feeling Pressured to Wear Makeup
I've never been a daily makeup wearer. Despite being 'the makeup girl', I've never had a problem with going to school or work without makeup on, let alone felt the need to slather it on for a quick trip to the grocery store. Realistically speaking, I wear makeup two to four times a week, depending on what I have going on, how I feel, and how many new products I have to play with. If I'm filming or going out to an event, I'll put it on without a doubt, but if I'm just lounging around the house or taking a walk in the nearby park... it's not going to happen. Does that mean I don't actually like makeup? No. It just means that I'm too lazy to put it on, really. You see, makeup to me is not a necessity. I don't see it as a chore. In fact, I hope it will never become a chore for me, because I'm afraid that would lead to the end of our love affair. I see it as a creative outlet, as an exciting hobby and something I wear whenever I feel like it. I never saw that as a problem, but after setting my foot in the beauty industry, I was greeted with disapproval and the pressure of wearing a full face of makeup at all times in order to look professional and convey my love for makeup. I personally think it's ridiculous how the society nowadays treats us women for wearing too much or too little makeup, and I would love to hear where you stand on this topic. Please watch the video below for a further explanation and join in on the discussion!

How to Conceal Imperfections

How to conceal imperfections. How to cover dark under eye circles, redness and acne.

I don't think it's wrong for me to say that us women wear makeup for mainly two reasons: to conceal and to enhance. Agree? Today we'll be focusing on that first part. Dark under eye circles, redness and pimples are imperfections all of us have to deal with at one point or another, and I know how ridiculously annoying they can be when you're trying to achieve flawless complexion. I myself was 'blessed' with thin, almost see-through skin and if there's anyone out there who knows the struggles a multi-colored face brings, it's me. Lucky for you, years of experience and a professional makeup course later have left me with a whole bunch of tricks up my sleeve that I'm now happy to share with you guys. All you have to do to learn everything from A to Z is press the play button below, sit back and relax. And don't let the mention of green and orange concealers freak you out! I promise you're going to thank me later.

Everything You Need to Know About Foundation

I know a lot of ladies who are interested in learning more about makeup but don't have the time, money or desire to enroll in makeup school like I did a couple of years ago. When they ask me where to go to learn the basics, YouTube is of course my instant response. After all, you can find a tutorial for virtually any makeup look on there, but a large portion of them keeps coming back to me, saying everything is too advanced for them. And I get it. When a mascara and a lipstick are the only two items of makeup you can name, the world of contouring, smokey eyes and baking can be a little bit intimidating...
types of foundations, how to find the right foundation shade, best makeup brushes for foundation, how to apply foundationThat's why I decided to start a brand new YouTube series - Makeup Masterclass. I call it an online makeup school, perfect for complete makeup newbies as well as those who just want to learn some 'top secret' professional makeup tricks. We'll be starting with the absolute basics, going step by step towards more advanced techniques. I've been working really hard on these videos and I sincerely hope you guys will find them helpful. If you do like what you see, you'd make me the happiest if you shared the videos with some of your friends who might also find them useful!

Today we'll be covering the topic of foundation - what types of foundations we know, which one is most appropriate for your skin type, how to find the perfect shade, and which tools and techniques to use for a truly flawless application. There's three lengthy videos to go through, so make sure to grab some snacks and a cup of tea before you start clicking those play buttons below! :)

My Favourite (Christmas) Cookies

I already put up a recipe for these yummy cookies years ago here on my blog, but since these are the most delicious cookies on planet Earth and are also perfect for Christmas, I decided to make a video version of the recipe this year and share it with my YouTube viewers as well!

The Truth About Social Media

A few weeks ago there was quite a discussion going on online about social media. It all started with an Instagram/YouTube influencer Essena O'Neill , who annonced she's quitting social media, because everything about it is 'fake' and 'evil'. As you know, social media is a huge part of my life. I have a full time job in social media, and my hobbies all revolve around it as well, so there's no surprise I just had to throw in my two cents. Here's what I have to say.

Empties: Products I've Recently Used Up

For a change I managed to not throw away the products I've used up recently, which means that I have an empties video for you! If you're not familiar with the concept, it's just me giving you quick, but very accurate reviews of products I ran out of.

Easy & Quick Halloween Party Food Ideas

Are you throwing a Halloween party this year? If your answer is yes, you might want to watch the video below! I show you how to make four simple but delicious treats that won't break the bank or take you ages to make. They can also come in handy in case your friends turn up at your door kinda last minute, so you might want to watch it in either case. Just saying... :)

September Beauty & Random Favourites

September Beauty & Random Favourites

I'll be filming my October favourites video soon, so I guess it would be smart to share my September favourites first, right? I've been neglecting my blog yet again - sorry about that - but I just got my computer fixed and completed some time-consuming projects, so my blog should go back to (the old) normal very soon. I just need to share some already published YouTube videos first! By the way, make sure you're subscribed to my YouTube channel to be up to date at all times.

Cruella de Vil Halloween Makeup Tutorial

Cruella de Vil Halloween Makeup Tutorial

October is here, which means that it's time to get into the Hallowen spirit! I'm quite excited to share today's video with you guys. It might not seem like it, but it took a lot of time and effort to put it together. My life literally revolved around it for the past week. Not that I'm complaining. I loved doing it and it made me realize how much I actually miss being creative with makeup.

Film/character makeup was by far my favourite part of the professional makeup course I took now more than a year ago, and creating this look really brought back all the happy feels. Little projects like this get me all excited, so fingers crossed I can do more of them in the future. I obviously notice a lot of things that could be done way better, but I'll let myself off the hook this time. I think I did the best job I could taking into consideration the limited time and resources I had available.

The video is actually a part of the collab I did with my friends Charli, Smay, Lucia and Trudy. We decided to create makeup and/or costume looks inspired by famous villans. My villain of choice, as you can see by the title, is Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians, and I truly hope you'll enjoy watching the makeup tutorial I came up with. Of course, don't forget to check out my friends' videos as well. They are all awesome! If you click on the photos featured at the end of my video, their videos will open in a new tab. :)

Essence First Impressions Get Ready with Me

I was lucky enough to get my hands on some new essence products recently, and thought it would be fun to try them out for the very first time on camera. Since half of my makeup collection consists of essence products anyway, it was not hard to throw in some old goodies as well and turn this get ready with me video into a one-brand-only makeup tutorial. The mini reviews I give are obviously just my initial thoughts, but you can expect a whole bunch of detailed blog posts with swatches in days to come, once I properly test out the products. The photos are already taken, so fear not, they're definitely coming. I told you you won't be able to get rid of me just yet... ;)
