NOTD: Blueberry & Polka.com

I have no idea how this has happened, but it's been almost a month since I published my last NOTD post. I always forget to take photos of my manis or can't take them because it's already dark outside, but today, I finally remembered to snap a few shots during the day.

Today's mani is a combination of two nail polishes. The base nail polish is Barry M's 'Blueberry' that I got in London. Just like the 'Prickly Pear', this one also belongs to their Gelly collection. In terms of consistency, application and wear, it is pretty much identical to the Prickly Pear, on which I've done a full review here

The second nail polish that I've used on my ring finger is OPI's 'Polka.com' from the Euro Centrale collection. I got it yesterday after having it on my wishlist since the minute it came out. I wasn't really planning on getting yet another nail polish, but I just couldn't resist it! I don't have much to say about it other than it's glittery and gorgeous. All nail polishes with chunky glitters kind of seem the same to me... :D

NOTD: Prickly Pear

Today I'm here to show you my first Barry M nail polish. When I was in London, the only nail polishes on my mind were the Essie ones, but when I saw the Barry M stand, I couldn't resist getting a couple of their gellys as well. Prickly Pear is the first shade that caught my attention. I have to admit, I do have a soft spot for pastel nail polishes. Especially for the turqoise and lilac ones.
I already know that Prickly Pear will be my go-to spring shade. Apart from the colour being totally gorgeous, it is also very glossy or gel-like, just like the bottle says. There is definitely no need to apply a top coat to make them look shinier, but I still use it for the sake of proloning the wear and making the polish dry quicker. To get the Prickly Pear opaque, I applied two coats. The application was great and not streaky at all, which doesn't often happen with pastel nail polishes, so I'm very impressed. The only thing I don't like is the wand. I prefer them big (no sexual connotation intended), but the Barry M ones are unfortunately quite tiny.
