NOTD: Kiss the Bride (with a Twist)
Sandra
My friend and a fellow blogger Laura put up a photo of an awesome minimalistic manicure on her Instagram a few days ago, and I fell in love with it right away. As you do, a few hours later, I was already copying her. For the base, I used Orly's 'Kiss the Bride', a nail polish I've been wearing all summer long. It's usually reserved for my toes, but recently I've been wearing it on my fingernails as well, since all my nails broke and it seems like nude is the only shade that looks ok on me right now. It actually reminds me a lot of Essie's Fiji, which is similar in colour and consistency. You need two to three coats to get it completely opaque and it also lasts for a decent amount of time before it starts chipping. The only thing that annoys me is the brush, because it's on the thinner side. I prefer the likes of Essie, Sally Hansen and Essence. Speaking of Essence, the black nail polish I used to make the dots is called 'Black is Back'. How are you feeling about this mani?

Neon Splash Nail Art Tutorial
Sandra
I have a love hate relationship with neon nail polish shades. I love them, but they don't love me back. Most of them just don't go with my skintone, so I've been trying to find a way to wear them anyways, and I think I found it in the form of a 'neon splash' manicure. I just love how fun it looks as well! If you're interested in how I achieved the look, check out the video below.

Fun Summer Nail Art
Sandra
I used to have a lot of fun with nail art until I completely abandoned it a year ago. But I think it's time to go back to the roots, and start being creative again! Nail art takes patience and skills, which I don't necessarily have a lot of; having said that, there are tons of cute and easy ideas out there even for us clumsy types. Today's tutorial is one of them. I think the mani is perfect for the summer. How about you? Also, let me know if you would like to see more nail tutorials from me in the future. I'll be more than happy to film them if you're interested.

Penguin Mani
Sandra
It seems like I haven't done any nail art for ages! I've been doing my nails in a hurry for the past few months, so nail art just never crossed my mind to be honest. When I was ordering my new adorable penguin phone case, though, I made a decision to spend some of my spare time on creating penguins on my ring fingers. They don't look perfect, because I don't have the appropriate nail art tools and a steady hand, but I think they still turned out pretty well.
Here are the nail polishes I've used: Catrice's 'Snow Motion', Maybelline's 'Colorama 80', Avon's 'Classic Fit' and China Glaze's 'Peachy Keen'. So, do you like today's mani? :)

Zombie Nails
Sandra
I hope you're not already tired of my Halloween manicures, because I have another nail art for you today. It's the last one, I promise! :D
This time, I was inspired by the zombie look. I first painted my nails with the Essence nail polish that you can see on the left side of the photo, then used a sponge to stipple on the rest of the colors, and lastly put on some red nail polish on the tips of my nails to create the effect of the dripping blood.
The nail polishes used: Essence's What's My name?, Catrice's Snow Motion!, OPI's Siberian Nights, Avon's Classic Fit, Catrice's Let's Talk About Barrie! & American Apparel's Factory Grey.
P.S. The winner of my RazorPit Sharpener giveaway is chosen and announced here. If you're the winner, please e-mail me your address details to sandra.thepuzzleofmylife@gmail.com. :)

Halloween Nails: Boo!
Sandra
Boo! Have I scared you? No? Oh, well... Today I have another Halloween manicure for you. It's probably one of the easiest ones you can do. To get the scared ghost look, you'll only need a dotting tool and two nail polishes - a white and a black one. I think the photo is pretty self explanatory, so I think going into the details of how to create this design is pretty much unnecessary, right? :)

Halloween Candy Corn Nails
Sandra
As Halloween is coming up very soon, I decided to do some easy Halloween manicures. The one that you're seeing today is inspired by candy corn, the famous American candy that seems to be very popular around this time of the year. To create this look, you'll need to use the ombre sponge technique I've already blogged about before. You can see step-by-step tutorial here.
P.S. I've done some Halloween nail designs last year as well. The one that seemed to be really popular was the 'Bloody Nails' design. You can check out the post here in case you haven't seen it yet. :)

Nails of the Day
Sandra
Last week I had one of those nights with plenty of time on my hands, but with no ideas what do to with myself, so I decided to do some time consuming nail art. This is the manicure I came up with. I really love the mix of the chosen colors! And you?
Here are the nail polishes I've used: Essence's 'Movin' On', 'Perfectly True' & 'Replay', and China Glaze's Tinsel Town.

Nail of the Day
Sandra
I was browsing through Pinterest the other day and I saw a cute nail design that I decided to try out myself. The only thing you need to do to achieve this look is paint your nails white and then draw on some blue and glittery stripes. Easy peasy and cute! :)
Products used: Essence's Multi Dimension XXXL Shine Nail Polish in Perfectly True, OPI's Natural Nail Base Coat, China Glaze's Bahamian Escape Nail Polish, China Glaze's Tinsel Town Nail Polish & Catrice's Quick Dry and High Shine Top Coat.

Nail of the Day: Replay + Night in Vegas
Sandra
For today's manicure, I decided to pair Essence's 'Replay' nail polish and 'Night in Vegas' topper. I love this combination so much! The topper is one of the coolest nail polishes I own, and I can already see that I'll be wearing this combination all summer long.

Summer Nails
Sandra
I had a little bit more time on my hands the other day (back when I still had exams), so I decided to do some quick and easy nail art. I wanted to include summery yellow color and paint each of my nails differently. This is what I came up with. I think it looks really cute, what about you?

To achieve this look, I used four different nail polishes - Essence's My Yellow Fellow, Essence's Perfectly True, Catrice's Quick Dry & High Shine Top Coat, and Essence's Blair glitter topper.

Nail of the Day: Stickers!
Sandra
I finally caved in and tried some nail stickers. I really likeed the design so I decided to get some even though the stickers didn't look promising in the packaging - they looked too paper-like. Once applied, they look great, though. You just need to apply some top coat over them and they look glossy just like normal nail polish. The application was very easy and quick. You just peal off the sticker, place it on your nail, rub it on and remove the excess with scissors and nail file. But you have to be really careful with filing. As I have said, the stickers are made out of paper, so you can easily mess up the ends and cause them to peel off. Having said that, they last for quite a long time on your nails. I had mine on for four days and I could easily have them on for a few more. All in all, I was quite pleased with them, so I'll definitely be getting some more. I really want to try some Sally Hansen ones! What do you think about nail stickers? Have you ever used them? Do you like them?

Nail of the Day
Sandra
I decided to jump on the bandwagon and try to recreate the famous Zoeey Deschanel manicure. I think it turned out quite well. What do you think? I used Avon's Perfectly Flesh for the base color and OPI's Mermaid's Tears for the tips.

Easter Nails
Sandra
Easter is right around the corner, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to share my Easter inspired nail design with you. I think it turned out adorable, don't you think so? The nail polishes I used for the base are all from Essence. You can check out the exact names of the colors in my recent 'My Favorite Spring Nail Polishes' post.

Valentine's Day Nails
Sandra
Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Valentine's Day. And no, this has nothing to do with the fact that I'm single. Having said that, this is pretty much the perfect opportunity to wear hearts on your nails, right? So there you have it, a quick and easy Valentine's Day manicure.
I used Avon's nail polish in the colour 'Ruby Slippers' (you can read my review of it here) and Essence Nail Art Stampy Set.
You can get the nail polish here, and the stampy set here.
P.S. Have you noticed a little change on my blog? I put the blog categories right below the header so that it looks a little bit more organized and sleek. Do you like it? :)
