Etude House Dear My Milky Gloss Review

It's safe to say that Etude House Dear My Milky Gloss in MPK002 gets my award for the most worn spring lip gloss of 2015. I just can't get enough of it. I swear I've been searching for a shade like this for years. I kept seeing it on people's lips, but could never find quite the exact match myself. The majority of natural-looking lip glosses are either full on pink, peach or nude, while this one is the perfect combination of the first two.

The consistency reminds me of NYX Butter Glosses (review here). It's thick and creamy, but the effect is more 'juicy'. It doesn't contain any glitters, making the finish milky and jelly-like. I love how natural it looks on my lips and the fact that I can build it up. One layer makes my lips look plump without much of an added colour, while an extra layer provides a full coverage.

The formula applies evenly, feels very smooth and comfortable on my lips, and has a staying power of a few hours unless you're having a meal. Overall, an amazing addition to my makeup collection that also smells lovely and doesn't have a yucky taste. Definitely a keeper!

Makeup Revolution I Heart Makeup 'Too Cool for School' Wow Gloss Review

Makeup Revolution I Heart Makeup 'Too Cool for School' Wow Gloss Review

Being a self-proclaimed lip gloss hater, I never thought I would grow to love them, but things change and so do I. Lip glosses have become less sticky and free of chunky glitter since my elementary school years, which has definitely helped me embrace them. Clarins Lip Perfectors and NYX Butter Glosses even got their permanent spot in my handbag, but now, I have another one to add to the collection - Makeup Revolution's I Heart Makeup Wow Gloss in 'Too Cool for School'.
Makeup Revolution I Heart Makeup 'Too Cool for School' Wow Gloss ReviewIt comes in the cutest packaging with a flat doe foot applicator. I love how unique the shape of the tube is (wide + slim). It looks pretty bulky at first, but it's actually very sleek.

The light pale pink shade is right up my alley. The pigmentation is just perfect and I love the milky effect. The lip gloss is comfortable to wear, doesn't have a particular scent and isn't sticky. Yay for that! I think it's perfect for everyday activities such as school or work. I actually used the lip gloss in my 'Back to School Makeup Tutorial' video in case you haven't watched it yet.

I have to say, Makeup Revolution has pleasantly surprised me once again. I'm already adding new items to my wishlist. Which products should I definitely check out?

NYX Butter Glosses Review

NYX Butter Gloss Review

NYX Butter Glosses have been on my wishlist for years, which is kind of hilarious because I used to hate lip glosses from the bottom of my heart. But when even non-lip gloss lovers started praising them to the skies, I knew I had to try them one day. I had the perfect opportunity to do so when I was vising the States last year, yet I forgot to pick them up! I was so overwhelmed by all the cool products which suddenly became available to me that quite a few gems I inteded to buy escaped my memory. The regret has been hunting me for a year. People, don't repeat my mistake and make mental lists only when you're visiting a store you've been dying to visit for years. Trust me, everthing starts spinning around from excitement and your brain starts doing funny things. The moral of the story is: print out your damn wishlists and take them with you. Thank god, the story has ended happily for me, because I came up with this wonderful idea and ordered some butter glosses for my online store a few months back. Genious! And yes, sometimes I order stuff for my online store just because I want to get my hands on certain products myself, muahaha. Ok, let's now start with the review :D

So, do they deserve the hype? Oh yes, they do. I'm completely smitten! I currently own three shades (Maple Blondie, Strawberry Parfait, Vanilla Cream Pie), but it's safe to say my collection is not yet complete. Most people describe butter glosses as hybrids between lip gloss and lip balm, which I would have to agree with. They actually remind me of the Clarins Lip Perfectors a lot. I see a lot of similarities between them when it comes to the actual consistency  of the product and the finish they give to your lips. The finish is what I love most about these butter glosses. They don't contain any glitter and give your lips the most beautiful juicy, milky shine, while still providing some pigmentation. The pigmentation varies from shade to shade, but overall, I would classify it as medium. The glosses apply evenly with the doe foot applicator and can be built up, so you can make the colour more visible and wear it on its own, as well as only apply one thin layer for a natural look or wear it over a lipstick. The product feels very comfortable on the lips, creamy rather than tacky or watery, and smells yummy! The only thing that's avarage about this product is wear time. It lasts about an hour or two on my lips, but after all, it's still just a lip gloss and lip glosses just don't have the best staying power.

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector Review

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector Review Swatch 01 Rose Shimmer 02 Apricot Shimmer

It's never been a secret that I am not a particular fan of applying sticky formulas on my lips, but when bloggers started claiming that Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector is a lip gloss even non lip gloss lovers fall head over hills with, it sparked up my interest and I immediately put it on my 'maybe one day' wishlist. The fact that this products costs anywhere from twenty to thirty euros (depends on where you purchase it) made me very reluctant to buy it. I feel like the price is very steep for a lip gloss, and considering I'm not the biggest fan of them, I just couldn't justify the splurge. Months went by and I was still resisting the purchase, but then I saw a travel exclusive gift set of two for the price of one at the airport and decided to finally give it a go.

The product comes in a very lovely looking tube that is girly, fancy, well made and functional at the same time. The product doesn't leak out of the tube even if you squeeze it really hard, which makes it a perfect for just throwing it in your handbag. The applicator is very convenient as well. There's a soft sponge attached to the tube from which a product comes out when you squeeze it. The amount of squeezed out product can be controlled, so there are no excess lip gloss nightmares going on, and it also applies evenly. It is a perfect on the go product and I'm glad that it is, because you have to re-apply it constantly, since it disappears from the lips rather quickly.

The product itself is supposed to be a hybrid between a lip gloss and a lip balm, and claims to nourish, repair and protect lips. I personally feel like it is more of a lip gloss. I can't comment on any of its nourishing properties, because I haven't had problems with chapped lips for quite a while, but it does feel ok on my lips. I feel like it sort of creates a film on my lips and doesn't dry them out, so I guess this is where it gets the nourishing claims from. Having said that, I don't have a feeling that it is particularly hydrating, and I also have to mention that it's a little bit sticky, which I'm not too fond of, but it luckily isn't sticky to the point where it would drive me mad. I have two shades - 01 Rose Shimmer & 02 Apricot Shimmer - which, by the way, smell pleasantly sweet. As you can see in my lip swatches below, they turn out pretty identical from far away. Up close and side by side, you can spot the difference, but the deal is, these are very poorly pigmented products. I'm kind of undecided about how I feel about this. On one hand, I wish they gave a tiny bit more colour considering how much you pay for them, but at the same time, I really like the outcome on my lips. I always have problems with finding nude lip shades for me because nothing seems to suit me, but these two are right up my alley. They make it very easy for me to pull off a nude lip, give my lips a nice milky finish and make them look juicy.

To be honest, I don't know whether or not to recommend you these. I do like wearing them on days when I fancy a nude lip or just don't want to be bothered with a lipstick, but I'm not sure if they're worth the hefty price tag. I would probably only repurchase this product if I found another airport deal. How do those of you who already gave it a go yourself feel about it?

bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie 'Rebel' Lipgloss Review

Today I'll be reviewing a very generous sample of bareMinerals' Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss that I received in my VidCon goodie bag. I got it in the shade 'Rebel', which I would describe as a pinky mauve, your-lips-but-better kind of colour. The lipgloss comes in a very sturdy and well-made packaging that doesn't look or feel cheap, which definitely lets you know that you're dealing with a high street product, and the applicator is just your regular doe foot one.

The texture of the lipgloss is quite thick, but it applies evenly and offers sheer-to-medium coverage. Unfortunatelly, it is a bit sticky, which definitely turns me off, because I'm not too fond of sticky lipglosses. And another few things that bother me are the peppermint scent and the mild stinging sensation, which are very typical of lipglosses with the plumping effect. I know that a lot of people love that kind of lipglosses, because they are supposed to make your lips look fuller, but I personally find them quite uncomfortable.

Despite that, I do have to admit it looks quite nice on my lips. The lipgloss doesn't have any glitters in it, so it gives my lips a very pretty creamy sheen, and it also doesn't dry out my lips or slide off the edges. For those of you wondering about the staying power, I would say it's pretty average. The lipgloss stays on for a few hours, but I find that it loses that wet-like finish quite quickly.

All and all, I think bareMinerals' Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in 'Rebel' is a very nice eyeryday kind of lipgloss for those of you that don't mind a bit of tingling and stickiness. Because the shade is so universal, it could work on a lot of different people, and as the lipgloss is not completely opaque, it probably looks nice over the lipsticks as well.

Have any of you maybe tried out this lipgloss yourself? What do you think about it? And if you're a bit more familiar with bareMinerals, I would love to know what you favourite bareMinerals products are!
