Living with Social Anxiety
Sandra
When I was younger mental health problems such as depression and anxiety weren't discussed publicly. At least not where I come from. I'd always known there's something about me that isn't quite right or 'normal', so to speak, but I'd never really had the word for it up until I stumbled upon a couple of YouTube videos back in... 2010? It was then, at the age of 18, when I heaved a huge sigh of relief, knowing I'm not the only 'freak' out there. I will be eternally grateful to people who decided to speak up about their own problems and share their stories online, as they definitely played a huge part in me working on accepting myself, and that's why today, I'm opening up myself to spread the awareness and maybe even be the person who unlocks someone else's prison. You never know. Living with general and social anxiety is not easy, especially when people around you try to dismiss your problems, or even worse, ridicule you. Having said that, I'm a firm believer that you can overcome anything and do whatever your heart desires, even if your mind sometimes decides to work against you. My story is not a success story. Yet. But I'm working on it, and one day, I hope it will be.

Q&A: Moving to London & Working as an Au Pair
Sandra
A miracle just happened. I repeat, a miracle just happened. I found an hour in my day to finally film a new video! To ease myself back into filming, I went for a Q&A about my move to London and my job as an au pair. Thank you to everyone who submitted questions. If you happen to have some more, leave them in the comments and I'll make sure to answer them in my next Q&A video. :)

The Week When I Did Makeup at Fashion Week
Sandra
This week started on a very exciting note. I had an opportunity to be a part of Make-up Designory's team of make-up artists at our fashion week, and as this is the only exciting thing that happened this week, it will be the focus of today's post. I'm sure a lot of you are interested in what was going on backstage, right? So, let's start at the beginning. We arrived at the location about four hours before the whole thing started and immediately started working. We were crammed in the hallway along with all the models and other people who were doing their own jobs backstage. It was very crowdy and hot, we had very little space for doing makeup, the lighting was not the best and I was full of nerves, since my social anxiety decided to pay a visit again, but the atmosphere was nothing like I'd imagined it to be. I thought everyone would be on the edge of their nerves and running around like crazy, but everything felt very relaxed. At least at our little corner. At some points it was quite hectic all around us, but I was so focused on doing makeup that I haven't even paid attention to that. We were done with the first round of looks earlier than we had to be, so we even had some time to relax, chat, rehydrate ourselves and eat some strawberries before the shows started. It was in the calm before the storm, because once the shows started, everything changed. The backstage went mental. We all had to be totally quiet, the music was so loud that the whole place was literally shaking, and everything was happening with the speed of light. We had to change the looks of our models twice, as we were working for three different designers, and only had five minutes between shows to do it. Not to mention that the models also had to change clothes. As I have said, it was crazy, but we did it and it felt like the whole thing was over before it even started. You can check out the looks we did and the work of amazing designers we've been working for (Zoran Garevski, Dajana Ljubičić, Young@Squat) here, here and here. After the show, when we cleaned everything up, it was time for an after party. Unfortunatelly, I couldn't go, as my mom's friend was waiting for me to call her to come pick me up and take me to her place. I was staying with her over night, because there were no more trains to take me back home, and since I really didn't want to be too much of a burden, I said no to the after party and only went for some drinks with the rest of the girls who couldn't go before I called her to come pick me up. I honestly couldn't ask for a better host. Not only did she drive me back to her place so that I wouldn't have to walk or take a bus in the middle of the night, but she also cooked me a dinner at midnight, because she assumed I would be starving. Bless her. So, this is how the night ended: I stuffed my face with pasta, took a shower, chatted with my mom's friend about how we don't have any great stores in our country, and then went to bed. Overall, it was a great night that maybe even changed up my mind about the whole fashion makeup thing. If you've read one of my lifestyle posts a few months ago, you probably remember that I went through a bit of a crisis, but I'm now ready to give fashion makeup another go if an opportunity arises. Oh, and if you're wondering whether models really don't eat anything, I can confirm that this is not true. I mean, they had a pizza party in the backstage before the main shows started! Any other things you want to know? :D

The Week When I Got Featured in Cosmo
Sandra
Yes, I'm not one but two days late with my Sunday post. This time, however, I am not the one to blame. In case you haven't noticed yet, my blog got redesigned this weekend, and let's just say there were a lot of technical difficulties. One of them being that my blog didn't work AT ALL for two days. I had several nervous breakdowns because of that on Sunday, so I don't even want to talk about it anymore. The point is, I feel mentally exhausted right now. There's been so much stuff going on in the last few days that it feels like a whole month has gone by. But leaving stressful things behind, last week was also all sorts of incredible. Among other things, I booked some makeup jobs and finally set up a facebook page for my makeup 'business', so that people can at least get in touch with me. It's called Sandra Potisek Makeup and I would really appreciate if you could like the page and spread the word! I'm currently up for doing all sorts of occasion makeup (proms, weddings, parties, etc.), but I'll also soon start offering individual makeup courses and maybe even some fun workshops for small groups. I just have to wait for my makeup room to be done! :)
HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK
Hands down the most incredible thing that happened last week was the fact that I got featured in Cosmopolitan Magazine! Say what?! I still can't quite believe it. My blog link was already featured in the magazine back in December in an article about Slovenian blogs, which was more than amazing to me, but this month's feature is amazingness on a whole another level! Never in my life have I thought that I would see myself in a magazine. It's just mind-boggling!

Weekly Snapshots #1
Sandra
Here I am, with another new category on my blog. I'll try to do random 'Weekly Snapshots' posts every week or at least every two weeks, but I'm not promising anything. You see, my life is kind of boring, and when I do anything exciting, I usually forget to take photos (travelling excluded). Anyway, here is my ''summary'' of last week. As you'll see, photos are really bad quality. They're taken with my phone, that's why. And I don't even have an iPhone, booo.
1. It's snowing! But this is nothing like what a view from my balcony looks like now. There's a lot more snow! Maybe I should take a photo and show it to you next week.
2. It's been so cold that even the leather gloves don't help me keep warm anymore. I guess I'll have to start wearing the ones I have for skiing!
3. StuDYING. This is the so-called bible of slovene students who major in English. Btw, the test didn't go well. I was so nervous that I managed to miss a part of a task which is worth 30%. I'm so stupid! The saddest thing is that I can't even re-take this test. You only have one shot, and if you blow it, you're screwed. You can actually fail a year because of one stupid test! :O
5. One of my favorite ice-creams. I only managed to find it in one store in my country, so I always stock up on it when I go there.
6. Spring Rolls! Antoher yummy thing I love.
7. Trying to be healty; eating Greek-ish salad for my dinner.
8. Failing at eating healty the following day. Yep, a muffin for breakfast.

9. & 10. I've already told you about my Temple Run obsession, and here's the proof! 2 million club, yeah!
11. Sometimes even I watch sports. It rarely happens, but this was one of the occasions. Australian Open. I was cheering for Nadal if anyone is wondering... :D
12. Happy Benji a few days earlier before the horror started. Among other things, he started shaking uncontrollably at 11 pm and didn't stop for 4 hours. It was painful to watch him suffer, but I couldn't do anything at that point. My dad and I took him to the vet the following day and apparently he had really bad tummy cramps. They also discovered that he has very low blood sugar. We have him on a special ''diet'' food right now and have to take him for a check-up on Saturday. I hope everything will be alright...
P.S. Do you even like these kind of posts? I think this is a good way to get to know me better, but I'm not sure if you even want to read my random blabbing. Please let me know, I won't be angry if you say no. :)
