Dusty Girls Earth Cream Natural Tinted Cream Review

Dusty Girls Earth Cream Natural Tinted Cream Review

Once again, it's been over a year since I tried out a new foundation. I feel like it's very hard for me to find a suitable one for my combination skin, so when I do, I stick to it. Nars Sheer Glow has been my number one bae for filming and going out, while the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum, an old favourite, is the one I usually grab when going for natural-looking day-to-day looks.

Having said that, the latter just got a very strong competitor - Earth Cream by Dusty Girls. Dusty Girls is an all-natural vegan-friendly Australian brand I haven't even heard of up until a month ago, but one thing's for sure, they definitely have my attention now.

Their Earth Cream is one of the best everyday foundations I've tried. Don't let the 'tinted cream' description fool you. The coverage is way better compared to other tinted creams on the market. I would say between light and medium, and what I also like about it is how easy it is to blend out. It has a thicker, cream-like consistency, so I would say avoid the brushes and just use your good old hands. Quick and streak-free! Also, one pump - yay for the pump - is more than enough to cover your whole face.

Somehow this product works well on my dry as well as oily areas. It's super moisturizing, which helps it to not stick to the dry patches I have on my cheeks, and stays on throughout the whole day, even on my oily T-zone. I haven't noticed any separation either, which is a big deal to me, because my foundations always end up separating on my chin.

The only thing I'm not exactly over the moon with is the scent. It's just a bit... funky? I really don't know how to describe it. Maybe it's what most all-natural products smell like and I'm just not used to it. Luckily, it ends up going away once it settles, so it's far from being a deal breaker, but I just thought I would mention it.

P.S. I wanted to include some before and after photos as well, but for some reason, I always end up forgetting to take them, so I decided to go ahead with the post and hope the video demo below will be just as helpful.

First Impressions Get Ready with Me: Makeup Revolution & Freedom Makeup

First Impressions Get Ready with Me: Makeup Revolution & Freedom Makeup (Rose Gold Lipstick in Girl's Best Friend, Ultra Flawless Powder Brush, Pro Artist Pad, Pro Studio Strobe Cream)

Remember that Makeup Revolution party I went to a couple of months ago? I was lucky enough to receive quite a few products to play with, and what better way to test them out than on camera, right? Today I'll give you my initial thoughts on Makeup Revolution's Rose Gold Lipstick in 'Girl's Best Friend', Makeup Revolution's Ultra Flawless Powder Brush, Freedom Makeup's Pro Artist Pad and Freedom Makeup's Pro Studio Strobe Cream. Have you tried any of these yourself?

Essence First Impressions Get Ready with Me

I was lucky enough to get my hands on some new essence products recently, and thought it would be fun to try them out for the very first time on camera. Since half of my makeup collection consists of essence products anyway, it was not hard to throw in some old goodies as well and turn this get ready with me video into a one-brand-only makeup tutorial. The mini reviews I give are obviously just my initial thoughts, but you can expect a whole bunch of detailed blog posts with swatches in days to come, once I properly test out the products. The photos are already taken, so fear not, they're definitely coming. I told you you won't be able to get rid of me just yet... ;)

First Impressions: Revolution Makeup

A few days ago I received a surprise 'Easter bunny package' from licila.si, and these are the products that were hiding inside. Since Revolution products are brand new on the market and are considered dupes for some high-end products that I love, I thought I would film a quick first impressions video before I leave for France, and then publish detailed reviews once I come back and have the opportunity to fully test out the products. Enjoy watching the video and let me know what you think about the products in case you've tried them out already! :)

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream Review

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream Review
I've never been much of a fan of BB creams. All the ones I've tried so far were completely and utterly terrible, so when CC creams started rolling out, I thought they were just another gimmick with a new name on the market. I had no intention of trying them out, but recenly my sister picked up the new CC cream from Bourjois, and I decided to give it a go myself. My bloglovin' feed has been flooded with positive reviews of this product and since Bourjois is a brand I always come back to when I'm looking for a new amazing drugstore foundation, my expectations were pretty high.

I thought that it would be a great idea for me to show you how it applies, looks and wears throughout the day, which is why I ended up filming my first 'first impressions' video. If you're not familliar with the concept yet, I basically filmed myself trying out the foundation for the first time and shared my initial thoughts on it. You can watch the video HERE, and then continue reading the post to see whether my first impression has changed or stayed the same after a longer trial period.

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream Review

Finished watching the video? Good. Now you're ready to read the rest of the post and find out if my feelings have stayed the same. :)

The Bourjois CC Cream is supposed to contain three pigments that help you cover blue under eye circles, redness and dark spots. With that in mind, I have to give the CC cream two thumbs up, because it managed to cover most of my imperfections. I have a very thin, almost see through skin, which means that you can see every single one of my capillaries, resulting in a lot of red and blue areas on my face. Like I said, the cream covered MOST of those areas, so I did need some concealer on top of it to hide everything. But if we take into consideration that my imperfections are very 'in your face' and this is a very light product, I can say that it performed above my expectations and evened out my skin tone rather beautifully.

I find the packaging very handy. It has this small applicator that gives you a lot of control over squeezing out the product. The cream itself is very runny, doesn't feel heavy on your face, is easy to blend and offers a light to medium coverage. The finish is very skin-like, somewhere between matte and satin. I personally prefer glowy looking skin, so I'm not the biggest fan of the finish, but this kind of things always come down to personal preference anyway. Moving on to staying power, it lasted all day on my skin, but I do have to mention one (and only) major concern I have with this product. It is not suited for very dry skin. The cream looks perfect for the first few hours, but soon enough, it 'cracks' on dry skin and enhances dry patches. Having very dry skin myself, I unfortunatelly can't give this product a pass. The Healthy Mix Serum works better for me, so I'll keep using that one and maybe give this CC cream antoher try during he summer, when my dry patches usually go on holiday.

So, would I recommend this product? Absolutely, as far as you don't have very dry skin or any major skin issues. Have you maybe tried it out yourself already? What are your thoughts? And what do you think about BB and CC creams in general? I was not a fan of them at all, but this product convinced me to start exploring the field again. Maybe I should try out some Asian or high end ones? Any recommendations?
