Bourjois Color Boost Glossy Finish Lipstick Review

Girls, I think I've found a dupe for the amazing Clinique Chubby Sticks (review here)! It's Bourjois' Color Boost Glossy Finish Lipstick. After being pretty disappointed with another supposed dupe - Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain (review here) - I didn't want to get my hopes up too high when I decided to give this lipSTICK a try, but it pleasantly surprised me.

It is just as moisturizing and buttery as the Clinique Chubby Sticks, it is not sticky, and it gives you a pretty glossy-like finish. The only difference is that this product is not as sheer. It's quite pigmented. It also has an SPF 15 and is supposed to be waterproof, which makes it perfect for summer.

The waterproof statement came as quite a surprise to me, because I'm not used to lip products being labeled as waterproof. You usually only see this when it comes to mascaras. Of course I had to test it out right away, so I put the lip product on and put my face under a tap. The things I do for reviews... Lol! Just kidding. No, but I really did put my head in the sink and poured water all over my face. So, how did my little experiment go? The lipstick really did stay on, but it felt quite waxy after and also didn't look too pretty. It was very patchy and just ewww.

The shade that I own is 'Peach on the Beach', and even though I'm totally in love with the formulation, I don't think I'll be able to wear it during the summer. It looked great on me a month or so ago, but now that I'm getting more tanned, it doesn't really suit me anymore. I wish I was able to swatch all the shades before I ended up purchasing this one, because I would probably go for something less orangey pink. I got it in France and they didn't have one single tester! You couldn't even see how the colours looked like in person, because every single product had its own cardboard/plastic packaging. Quite annoying to be honest. Are makeup products sold like that where you live as well? We just have them on stands and there are usually always testers, so you can swatch you life away!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation Review

During the colder months, I get some really dry patches on my cheeks, which  tend to look even worse when I apply foundation. I've been using Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua for more than a year now, but it unfortunately just doesn't work for me right now, so I've asked girls on twitter which foundation do they think would work best for my dry skin. Most girls sugested me the Bourjous Healthy Mix foundation and all I can say is THANK YOU! All of the drugstore foundations I've tried before were rubbish, so my expectations weren't too high, but holy crap! This foundation is awesome!

The best thing about it is that it doesn't cling to my dry patches, of course. But this is not everything. It also beautifully evens out my skin, gives it a healthy glow and blends perfectly. It's not even noticable that you're wearing it. Even my hair stylist said the other day that my skin looked gorgeous and I don't think she was aware of me having foundation on, haha. Anyway, I would say the foundation gives you medium coverage without looking cakey and stays on throughout the whole day. Oh, and the bottle also has a pump and therefore makes the application mess-free. Overall, I think this foundation is perfect for dry skin. I would definitely recommend it to you, as it's great value for money!

P.S. In case anyone's wondering, I have it in the shade 52 Vanilla, which works really well for my skin with a slight yellow undertone. You can see how it looks on me in my latest 'outfit of the day' post.

Bourjois Rouge Edition 'Rouge Jet Set' Lipstick Review

Bourjois products have been pleasantly surprising me lately. My new favorite foundation is from Bourjois, and now I've also found the perefct red lipstick!

I don't know since when have these lipsticks been avaliable in other countries, but in Slovenia the Bourjois Rouge Edition lipstick collection had to be released not more than a month ago. Well, at least I haven't seen them anywhere before. To be honest, what persuaded me to take a look at them is their packaging. It looks really sleek, modern and I love how you can see the color of the lipstick at the bottom. It's also quite sturdy, so it doesn't look or feel cheap like most drugstore lipsticks usually do.

This collection of lipsticks is definitely one of the best ones I've seen so far. The selection of the shades is amazing! There are 18 of them and range from nudes, classic reds, soft flirty pinks and some really bold ones. They all seemed gorgeous to me, which can be confirmed by my sister. After swatching them and falling in love with their texture and pigmentatiton, I soon had about 5 of them in my hands. My sister thankfully detected the danger of me spending 50€ on lipsticks again, so she 'allowed me' to only pick one, haha. I eventually went with the 'Rouge Jet Set' in my lucky number 13. I've been looking for the perfect red lipstick for ages, and I think I have now finally found one. :)

As you can see, the lipstick is very pigmented. It has a soft, creamy texture (my favorite) and doesn't dry out your lips at all. The durability is very decent as well. It lasted about two hours on my lips before losing its sheen, but my lips remained stained for extra two hours. It's not the cheapest drugstore lipstick out there - it costs about 11€ in my country - but I think it's worth the money.

Has anyone else tried the Rouge Edition lipsticks? Do you love them as much as I do?
